Now I get to dive into all the little objects that should populate my fantasy world. Our fantasy story includes bedrooms, kitchens, palace quarters, common quarters and secret meeting halls. The variety of objects that need to be captured is a bit overwhelming so it's time to start at the beginning. While rummaging through my favorite thrift store I came across this very common looking pitcher. It's perfect. Nothing flowery, just utilitarian. This will go perfect all over the place. :) Enjoy!

This scan had me pretty excited from the start. We were traveling through the middle of nowhere... also known as Nebraska (all of it, haha), when we saw this statue inviting us to scan it. My wife has grown accustomed to me wanting to disappear and take a couple hundred photos of a subject. She also knows that I am gathering photos for our castle collection and knew at once how perfect of a subject this statue was. She graciously agreed to watch the kids while I went to work. When I felt like I had decent coverage and stopped photographing we had 200+ photos in the can (no cans really, just sd cards). Since this subject is about eight or so hours away from where I live, returning to gather additional images just wouldn't be an option. So I was relieved to see that I had enough coverage to recover the scan. :) Woohoo! This little guy will become a type of torch holder, where fire is burning in the dragons mouth in our fantasy castle of Tarsia! You may use it however you want. Download and enjoy!
Square Paving Stone (1)One This is a first, in a couple of ways. This is the first turntable scan that I've done and I quite enjoy how much easier it is to do turntable scans. And this is the first of a new series of scans called The Castle. These stone paver scans are an experiment to use MoGraph or some other tool to erect larger stretches of castle walks, floors and roads. We'll see how it turns out. Enjoy the pavers!
In my pursuit to create a great castle set and locate large hewn stone subjects I found a gold mine... a cemetery to be more precise. This cemetery has some fantastic stone structures (such as this crypt that I will use as a plinth) and on an overcast day I was able to photograph without any interruption. It was a rather rewarding visit and it will augment my castle structures nicely. Crypt
