Elm Tree with Hollows I know everybody does tree trunks but this subject captivated me. I love the old, over-grown, rotted-out stumps around the base of this tree. I can totally imagine children's animation with some fantastic CG critters living in the hollows. Also the folds in the bark just show some of the fantastic details that age produces. So here you go an old elm tree. Enjoy!
Aspen Tree I know there are always tons of tree scans but... there aren't any Aspen tree scans. I have taken the liberty to correct this gross oversight. Haha! Enjoy! Broken Dead Tree Someone had recently commented about wanting a broken tree like one that didn't survive a storm. Well, I remembered that this last time I was out scanning. So I snatched up this broken dead tree. Heavy overcast weather and it began snowing during the scan. 150 RAW images taken on my NX300 at 18mm.
Rotted Stump I didn't have as much light as I would have liked but I got plenty of coverage and I shoot RAW. It's a lot of fun to drill down on a subject like this in order to get as much geo resolution as I can in the time that I have to scan it. Being on the east coast now, it is interesting to see how much everything rots so quickly out here. This one also got me a bit of poison ivy from traipsing through the woods and clearing brush away from my subject before scanning. I really liked the openings and shapes of this tree strump. 299 RAW images to scan this tree trunk at this resolution. Enjoy! Comments are closed.
